Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye Westの大御所から、Wiz Khalifa, Tyler the Creatorといった話題の新人、そしてRandom AxeやTech N9neのアンダーグラウンドMCまで、ヒップホップ勢も多くランクインしているが、中でもLil Wayne, Drake, Rick Rossの3人は客演曲も含めてそれぞれ最多の3曲でリスト入りするなど、上半期を象徴する活躍ぶりとなった
なお、この3人がフィーチャリング参加したDJ Khaledの"I'm On One"が、Complexの上半期No.1ソングとなっている
